Alright, Ive got two monitors, i want to hook it up so i can play a game on one, and surf the web and such on the other. I have a nvidia 8800 gts 320 and i have failed to do this. when i run a game it turns off the other monitor. Do i need to get another video card? if so can i just get a cheap one for the other monitor?

Hi, Ultramon will allow you to run DualView, and ultramon is a very handy program. you can run a game in one monitor and have other apps (such as chat programs) in the other. limitations being that you cannot just move your mouse over to the other monitor mid game, it will alt-tab you, you must alt-tab unless you run the game in a windowed mode. however the other monitor will update while you play your game, so you could see whose talking in vent, or who messaged you on xfire. with ultramon you can also have proper taskbars on each monitor. and it adds function keys at the top of your dialog boxes allowing you to maximize the window to that monitor, both, or switch it to the opposite monitor.

as for Windows being able to do what X can, i highly doubt it, I really don't think windows is as flexible in that respect. I've never heard of a solution like that before. It is possible, i just don't know how easy it would be to do with windows.
