Ok, this might have been asked somewhere, but I have looked and couldn't find my answer.

I have an G4 MX400, it supports dual monitors using the DVI converter. I've got two monitors, one 21" and one 17". Ok, I want to play Halo (or any game for that matter) using the 21 for my game and the 17 to keep track of network statistics and RCON for a dedicated server.

Is this possible? Can someone give me an idea of how to set it up through the nVidia software or do I need another program? I mean, obviously I could use another PC to monitor the total network statistics but my sister's computer is running too. I want to know my pings and upload and download speeds to our dedicated server.

TIA to anyone who can help me!

TJ

I have in the past installed 2 video cards both using nVidia I used 2 monitors and my TV. I thought this would be ideal for me because I could play a game, watch a movie, and download stuff all simultaniously. Here is the truth. I dont know if you are meaning using the same card to do multiple outputs or using two video cards to do this. My suggestion is that one video card will lag if you use one card, especially if you are going to be running a game on one monitor and watching a movie on the other. But here is how I did it with my PC. Install the second card(if you have one) during installation if the card uses nVidia it will pick up the other card (other card must also use nVidia) It will then go thru several important steps, mainly it will want to know how things will be used on the secondary display. (ex: drag window to new monitor, multiple desktops, etc...) The second thing you will need to do is right-click on the desktop and at that screen you will see a number of monitor pictures. The ones in gray airn't activated, so click on them one at a time, and click the button that says something like activate desktop or something. Now you will have both monitors working (this last step may require a reboot to take effect) Please let me know if this helped.
