Installing doom3 takes 2 billion years to finish! This stupid game has been giving me a tremendous stress, but no fun.

It gets even worse when you actually start playing it. Some people are like Slinkies, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

no its not, doom3 is not suck, it is just your computer sucks. its only take 5 to 15 mins to install, and if you want the better performance, get a better hardware. if you cant afford it, dont complain. P4 3.2GHZ kingstom 1GB DDR 3200 Nvidia geforce FX 5950 256mb

Your CR-ROM may be faulty or is this problem only with doom 3, if it is, Check to see if your disks are dirty or damaged. If they are ok your disk may have corrupted data on it, if you can take it back to where you bought it and get another copy. BTW I liked Doom 3, most people either do or dont, play it for yourself and decide, dont let us tell you otherwise. nuff said

Bryce has a point, as far as the game, the levels are too dark, (the developers made it that way) can't have weapon and flashlight equipped at same time, (there is a mod for that) Other than that I really like the game.

Doom 3 is a very processor intensive game. It is of the few games released that would make you wanna upgrade your processor just for better framerates. If you had a P3 1.0ghz (not that i have that processor) paired with an SLI 6800 U you would find that your framerates are sort of lagging but running Far Cry with a P3 1ghz would be just fine. It's a 3 disc set so what do you expect. The people around me generally think that Doom 3 has bad gameplay and great graphics.
