Guys I need ur help...

Been struggling to get DOOM 3 working even slightly ok on my system... I have a ATI RADEON 7500 with 128 megs and a system exceeding Doom 3's minimum requirements... I've installed all the latest drivers, Direct-X 9c, but the game continues to run at under 10 FPS... I tried all the Doom 3 tweaks on the net, but I only managed to get it up to 13 FPS... what's wrong witb my DOOM or SYSTEM??? U guys seem to know so much, so maybe u can help me out! What can I do???

Your system seems fine except the video card. 7500 is outdated, unfortunately, but about $150 will get you a 9600.

Minimum requirements are not something to aim for, they just mean that the game will barely run, The reccomended requirements are far more relevant if you want to play the game to a reasonable standard. I'm not sure, but I don't think the 7000 series of Radeons has Dynamic texture & lighting capabilities.

If you're considering a Fx900xt, radeon 9600 etc.. it might be worth waiting for the Nvidia Geforce 6600 AGP due out somtime this month, if it's anything like the PCI-x version, it'll support shader modeller 3.0 and make Doom 3 look even nicer.

"Nvidia Geforce 6600 AGP due out somtime this month"

It's been out.

And minimum specs? Yeah they are a bunch of BS. I acutally had the pleasure (or torture) of playing DOom 3 on minimum specs and it was an ordeal that I wish I never went through.

6600 AGP is out already??

What part of the world?? All the suppliers in the UK don't even mention it yet, any time I search on 6600 AGP reviews I get the PCI-e reviews instead! Grrrr..

Apparently though it has 8 pixel pipelines, so it's probably a bit slower than the already reasonably priced standard 12 pixel pipeline 6800 128mb

Might hold out for a 6800GT 256mb to come closer to the £200 mark, maybe after Christmas..

Also, looking at the 6600 PCI-e, it's only 128-bit instead of 256-bit for the 6800 series! Could the 6600 be the new FX5200??

I guess I'm quite a bit over the requiremnets (P4 2700 Mz, 1048 MG RAM)... Graphics Cards bad I guess... but that shouldn't be a problem cause my friends have pretty crappy graphics cards and the game works fine on the PC's...

I have another question, how do you turn off Dynamic Lighting??? Would that help because a friend of mine said it cud if I figured out how to do it???

By the way, thanks for all the comments!!!

Yea i have a graphic problem also. i got p4 3.2ghz with 1gb ddr3200 rams and ati 9700. every object in the game looks fine, just the monster/character problem, u can see a line on the middle of their face, and the funny think is 1 side is dark and 1 side is bright. just looks like i am using software, not directx or openGL. i should upload an image here, but i dont know how.

shut the f--- up
