I am looking to gradually upgrade my PC bit by bit on a budget.
I have been looking at buying MSI GeForce FX5700LE 256MB to replace my old Geforce3 Ti200...
Q. Does anyone know if the GeForce FX5700LE runs on the AGPX4 interface? I have had a good look around and it is advertised as just AGPX8. I don't want to upgrade the mobo yet but would like the card to work on my existing system?

It should work, my old system had an AGP4x GeForce2 on a AGP2x slot, but it makes a slight bottleneck for all that potential the card has. It should still run fast enough, they just say that to promote utilization of all that speed, which is a good idea(to run it in an AGP8x slot). My 5700 LE has compatability problems with Direct3D, so if you can afford it, chuck the thing and go with a more widely supported video card like the 5600 or even better, a 5800. Maybe it's just my card, or eVGA's fault (the manufacturer of mine).

Thanks for your reply.
I decided in the end to get the full 5700, and then to upgrade the mobo and processor in the next couple of months.
