Solved Do I need to reinstall Win7 and my apps?

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate SP3, Intel Core i5 3570k / 8 GB RAM
This week I'm going to order a new gaming PC and I'm going to use my old drives on it. Then the question hit me (I'm fairly new to PC gaming): Will I have to reinstall my games/apps/Windows or should I just move the old HDs to the new PC and it'll work fine?

When you get your new PC you will have to run Windows Setup & install Windows on it. Windows won't work by just putting a hard drive into your new PC which already contains Windows which was installed on a different computer.

"I'm going to order a new gaming PC"

How about listing the specs? Many people think they're buying a gaming PC because it's being marketed as such, but they end up with an HTPC because they don't understand the hardware specs.

And as stated above, your old HDD will not work. Windows is setup for your current hardware configuration, if you swap the drive into a different system & attempt to boot, it will detect the changes in hardware & display an error message. The best thing to do would be to back up all your important files, then wipe the HDD, repartition, reformat, & do a fresh install from scratch.

I not going to buy it OEM. I'll set it up myself. Although I'm new to this I believe I've done my research correctly. Here are my specs:

EVGA GeForce GTX760 2GB DDR5 256-Bit PCI-Express 3.0
ASUS P8H61-M LE R2.0 LGA 1155
2x Kingston 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz PC10666 RAM
CoolerMaster ATX eXtreme Power Plus 600W Power supply
Intel i5 3570k processor

About Windows, I'll take your advice and wipe the drive after backing up what I want. Thanks for the help!
