I'm just posting this as I've seen quite a few messages querying this on this forum.

No offence to anyone, but unless you're a gamer living under a rock for the last coupleo of years, you've heard of SecuRom. SecuRom is a DRM which was used extensively over the last couple of years on games. DRM is good to stop piracy, but SecuRom causes several problems with a lot of people's PCs. If you're having any of the problems below, run a search of your PC, including viewing hidden folders for "SecuRom" and this is very likely your problem. You'll have to contact the manufacturer to get advice from them on how to proceed. Common SecuRom issues are:

Disc Authentication Errors: You've installed your game, put it into the drive and double clicked on the game and you get a message that's telling you to make sure the proper disc is in the drive. This problem will be exponentially greater if you have two CD/DVD Rom's on your machine, but all people will have it lately because all new CD/DVD Roms are writable. SecuRom views this as an attempt at piracy and won't run the game.

More severe issues: Computer stops functioning after you play the game once. You go to turn your PC back on and it doesn't turn on. This is because SecuRom is DRM which is actually installed to your PC and accesses programs it's not necessarily supposed to.

Malware Warnings: During gameplay you might get a message from your firewall or Anti-virus/Anti-malware program telling you that your game is attempting to use the internet. This is part of SecuRom's disc authentication and gathering information on your use of a licensed product.

If you're having any of these problems, contact SecuRom directly or contact the game manufacturer. If you would like more information on SecuRom and how to manage a PC that isn't working properly with a fully licensed game you can go to www.reclaimyourgame.com. They have a lot of information there on this and other invasive DRM products that might help you.
