Comment:

I just bought a 6200OC with 256mg DDR AGP 8x from Best Buy and I realize I overpaid for a weak card.

I wonder if they will take it back if I claim compatibility issues. I have the reciept, it's still in perfect condition and I just bought it yesterday.

I am dissapointed to see I have to crank DOOM 3 all the way down to get consistent frame rates over 30fps. I may try overclocking it a bit first though I think I should just buy the better card.

I plan to order a 6600GT with DDR2 or DD3 instead for just 20 or 30 dollars more online. Any comments or advice appreciated.

yep... you should go for a 6600gt. I don't know which agp version is the best though.
However I highly recommend a 6800gs, if you can afford it. I believe the agp version is about 200 bucks.

You're making a smart move...like you said, the 6200 is a weak card & if you got it from BestBuy, you almost certainly overpaid. The 6600GT sells for about $115 at Newegg

I have a 6600GT and it runs Doom 3 fine at 1024*768 Med, everything on (3200 64-bit). But, it does not run Quake 4 very well at all, 800*600 low everything,

Fennerman is right, go for the 6800

wait til Feb. nvidia will launch 7300, the price will be sub-$100, less than 200. its a good deal, at least i would think its better than 6600Gt, i am not sure if it can beat the 6800. LOL! base on the price, i dont think so.

the 7300 has 64bit memory interface yet 550mhz core... compared to 6600gt has 500mhz core 1000mhz memory @ 128bit.. I high doubt it will be faster than 6600gt unless it has 128bit memory + 8 pipeline.. But most likely it will have 4 pipeline and therefore cannot compare with the 6600gt...
