Disabling Z Options

OS: Windows XP SP2
CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 2800+ 512MB PC2

I have a RADEON 9800. I have it softmodded, bu it has some artifacts. I can get rid of them by either diabling Fast Z Clear in D3D or Z Mask in D3D. Which of them will have the least effect on performance?

I just want to fix this.

If your soft modded card has artifacts in games you should probaly load you original drivers back.
