Subject: Disable sli pop up baloon
OS: WinXP sp2
CPU/Ram: 2.53GHz, 512MB
Model/Manufacturer: Assembled.
Comment:
Hi,
Every time I start my computer I get a pop-up baloon at the bottom right corner about "sli disable multi gpu" etc.
This was fun for some time, but I would like to disable this now.
Is there any way to disable this baloon permanantly and safely?
Thanks very much.
Sarosh.

Not to slam haynzee, but just a general reminder to people.

Don't just trust a registry key someone says is completely safe and and was provided by a particular entity. There's no way to prove that unless you're downloading it with SSL from that vendor's site.

Open the registry key with notepad and take a look before you import it, and backup your registry before merging it as well.

In this case it looks fine, but it could have read...

"[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\DSAROSH'S COMPUTER\Powersupply]
"Thispowersupplysucks"=dword:00000001

That can cause things like games crashing, difficulty in getting RMA's returned, etc.

Ha,
Thats right hero, the psu totally sucks. I run two hds, two cd roms, 1gb ram and the 6600GT from 6am to 8pm each day, and its totally aweful man. I played prey, tomb raider-L, UT 2004 and fear(again) on this psu, and each the game refuses to run because "antec.dll" is missing. lol.

haynzee, thanks for that link, I already ran that registary hack and everything seems very safe so far. Thanks for that haynzee.

Sarosh
