I am really dumb whem it comes to computers and I just bought the Sims2. I installed DirectX 9.0c but when I try to play the game I get the message "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer." I'm not really sure what this means or what i need to buy or download, any help would be greatly apprecieted
what modle is your dell? Chances are you need to buy a video-card, because you dont have one. You might have an intergraded-graphics processor thats on your motherboard thats not up to playing the graphic intence game the sims 2.
that means your video card is not support it. what is your video card. if its an on-board graphic card, thats the problem. buy a video card, either ATI or Nvidia. for sims2, get ATI 9600 or higer. or nvidia geforce 5700 or higher.
Im going commit cpu homocide, for several weeks now my graphics card has been giving me crap. Whenever I play a game, it will start up fine, and then after time, the screen goes black and it goes to the desktop. After installing dx9, instead of going to the desktop, the system reboots. Its geforce 4 ti 4200 8x agp. the mother board is a Via kt400, amd athlon xp 2200+. My card is not dx 9 compatible I dont think, would anyone know how to fix that? I've downloaded latest drivers from nvidia, windows updates, chipset updates, uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the drivers, and dx9 and still the same crap! What should I do?
