DX10 will debut with Windows Vista. AFAIK, DX10 is not & will not be compatible with WinXP, so if you're sticking with XP, DX10 is a 'non-issue'

I read (on something like www.inquirer.com)DX10 would be first released as a DX9L, XP compatable, to allow future DX10 games to run under XP.

GigaByte 3D Aurora
Asus P5WDHDeluxe
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700
2GB DDR2 Twin2X 800MHz
nVidia GeForce 7900 GTX

Nope. The Enquirer has admitted they were wrong on that: http://www.theinquirer.net/default....

DX9L is DirectX9 for Vista (L = Legacy). There are no current plans to release DirectX 10 for XP.

Well, one post I read said L stood for Legacy. The Enquirer article states it stands for Longhorn. No matter though.
