Direct 9.0c and Graphic Adaptors

I know it's ben said before but nothing has helped. I'm reloading the Sims2 onto my new comuter and I only get "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system!" whenever I try to play it. My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 9300 Ge with up to date driver. I tried reloading the driver, loading DirectX 9 series. (My comp has 10 already) I tried running the game in XP compatability mode but nothing has helped. I'm very very upset about this. Can someone please shed some light on the situation?
How would I even 'get' a graohic adaptor if its possible/needed?

Sims2 runs perfectly fine on Vista64. I figured out the problem on my own anyways. It just had to to with my wonked out computer and wasn't any of the usual problems.
