OS: Win98SE
CPU/Ram: Pwntium II 266MHz/384MB
Product: home built
Comment:

My Pentium II (which I built for classic gaming) has a 32MB TNT2 Model 64 video card, and it works fine with OpenGL games like GLQuake and the Quake 3 demo, but whenever I try to play a Direct3d game, such as Incoming or Rollcage, it either gives me a blank screen or crashes to the desktop. I'm currently using Forceware 71.84 as my driver. I've tried using the older Detonator drivers, but they don't work either. Help would be appreciated. Thanx.

Have you tried Omega drivers?

No, but I'll give them a shot. :)
EDIT: They didn't work. It wouldn't run my Direct3D games at all, and my OpenGL games would run for a minute, then lock up and force me to reboot the machine.

Ok i'll give it one more shot. Here are the 81.98 TNT2 Forceware drivers for windows 98.

If that doesn't work, i'd get a better card then like a Nvidia Geforce 5200 FX which are super dirt cheap now. That will solve the problem real quick.

Nevermind. I tried the Detonator 5.32 driver, and it works marvellously (the version I had that didn't work was 2.08). :) I know, I COULD be using a better videocard, but this is for a rig I built for playing classic games (my main one is a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 with 768MB of ram and a Radeon 9000 videocard), so getting something so new would be an absolute waste.

Your main machine could use a video card upgrade.

I know. As soon as my uncle gives me his Radeon 9550, I'm going to slap it into my P4, and put my Radeon 9000 into my P2 (even though it would be overkill, like I mentioned above).
