IS there really any difference between the Ati x1650 and the x1950? This is concerning the AGP Models.

theres a huge differnece in terms of gaming. check tomshardware.com. click the vga charts there.
Pentium D 945 3.4GHz
Foxconn 865G7MF-SH mATX Mobo
2GB G.Skill RAM DDR400 2-3-2-5
2x250GB HDD
2xDVD-RW
HIS x1950pro turbo AGP 256mb
ATI TV 550pro card
600W Ultra X-finity PSU

The biggest differences are that the X1650 has 12 shaders and is 128bit, the X1950 has 36 shaders and is 256bit. Clock speeds are about the same. The X1650 is a good card........The X1950 is a great card!

I am thinking about getting

What do you think?

It looks sweet to me. Although, If you're gonna get a top end card like that, you want another gig of RAM. When you play games at high settings and resolution (which you will do with that card) you're RAM will max out, causing lag/freezes, so you're gonna have to revert back to lower settings. Get more RAM first, or you're wasting your money!

Buying a radeon x1950pro agp is already a waste of money... As suggested above get another 1GB RAM ~$80 + $200 video card + better power supply if your current one is el-cheapo ~$70 ~$350 total... If you want better gaming performance, why not build a whole new system with PCI-E?

120GB/300GB 7200RPM HD
Leadtek 7600 AGP 590/1600 VF700 ALCU AS5

We already went thru all this in your other post! You need more RAM, a bigger/better power supply, PLUS a video card. Regardless, the X1950Pro is TOO much card for your system. The X1650Pro is a much better fit.

umm what psu do u have? ur processor is fine for that graphics card. btw avoid taht sapphire card at all costs. it has some major problems. go for a 256mb x1950pro agp.

It's a S754 A64 on a VIA K8T800 based board that only runs single channel mode. This is not a system worthy of the X1950Pro.
Go for the Radeon X1650PRO or the GeForce 7600GS as was recommended in your other post. They're less than 1/2 the price! But you may STILL need a PSU...you never did tell us the make/model/wattage of the one you have?

if he can shell out the money for a x1950pro but its too good for his system mayhaps he should go with a 7600gt. it is midway between the x1950pro and the x1650pro.but he has to have a good psu either way for a good gfx card.
