Ok, so I was told to check out cyberpowerpc.com for good deals on PCs so I did. Everything looks great and all but, One thing concerns me, HORRIBLE reviews.

Has anyone bought a computer from this site?Im a little more than skeptical now.

If you are strongly concerned about not wanting to have a bad experience with your PC purchase, express those concerns to a representative of the vendor & make sure to point out the reasons - if the response or explanations are not convincing enough - pull the plug on the purchase & take your business elsewhere.

The thing about ordering a PC from CyberPower, IbuyPower, BuyXG, or similar sites is that you need to know PC hardware so that you can custom configure the system.
Take the following $485 system for example:
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/...
It has a weak power supply, weak motherboard, not enough RAM, horrible video card, crappy speakers, no operating system. If you run down the list, picking & choosing better components, the price quickly climbs to $1000, & that's without a monitor. But if you were to buy it as configured for $485, I could almost guarantee you'd be disappointed.

Thanks for the quick reply guys.
Jam, I'm not concerned on the pricing and components of the PC I have selected to buy. The thing I'm worried about is reading multiple reviews of customers having their PCs arive with wrong components, not fully installed components, broken components, and then having to deal with subpar customer service.
After reading tons of reviews(thanks Sabertooth, for providing a different site to add to my review process) I believe I am going to give them a shot. For the price cuts they have compared to other competitors I think its worth a shot. Even if my refund does not include the shipping, I think its a small enough price to pay to take a chance on such a good deal.
I'll probably end up purchasing this PC sometime in the next two weeks or so(graduation present:))
All in all, If I end up being shortchanged like lots of others, I might be back here and searching the internet to learn how to build one myself :s
Thanks again guys.

I found an interesting quote on Sabertooth's link, "To the poster above, I find it grotesque that you would spam resellerratings with only positive customer emails."
I'm not saying that still happens, but someone from CyberPowerPC seems to spend a lot of time there.

The bottomline is that review sites such as Epinions or Resellerratings should be used as a guide, not as pure fact...you have to take reviews (especially negative reviews) with a grain of salt.
Most of the bad reviews at Epinions are over 2 yrs old (I only looked at the 1st couple of pages), but the reviews at Resellerratings are current & seem to be much more favorable.
