Does a firewall (Norton Internet Security 2004) give you lag in Counter-Strike? Because i seem to be lagging with the firewall. Before i had the firewall, it was fine.

yes, meny online games won't even run with a firewall running, anti-virus should be disabled as well.

With the amount of kids on CS servers that like to "OWN" people, wether it be with Mp5 or malicious code, I wouldn't disable my firewall/anti-virus if you paid me.

Some firewalls like Norton and Kerio are big problems in online gaming, while others are not. I use a integrated firewall from my DSL Modem and I never have problems whenever I play online games.

LOL Hooner, come on online and I'll OWN you lol.

OK seriously, I wouldn't disable the Anti-virus or firewall. I've been playin CS for quite some time now and don't experience lag which is due to these essential programs being enabled. However if you're using ZA, you might wanna get a less heavy duty one. :-D

BTW lag is mainly due to servers with a lot of 56Kers, if you have 128MB RAM or less and some servers like UK2 just lag as a feature. :-O

ER4S3R.
Hope That Helps.

Maybe for the slow systems u might experince lag since it has to keep up with both and cant really handle that. Depends on what ur comp can handle.

I wake up at 6 o'clock every morning, no matter what time it is.
