Can anyone recommend a CRT monitor suitable for gaming?

What specs should one look for in a CRT monitor if one was planning on using it for gaming?

O dude CRT's are the best for gaming. Way better then those crap LCD's. Go for a flat screen that can atleast display a res of 1280x1024. With this you will be set.
If you really want to go high end make it a 20".

The quality monitor you should get depends a lot on your video card too. A 19" 1600x1200 70Hz max monitor wont do you any good if your video cards max res is 1024x768. Assuming that your a gamer and likely have a decent card though, make sure you get a monitor with a flat screen trinitron tube. Be aware that these usually take up LOTS of desk space though. My personal favorite monitor has always been the Samsung Syncmaster 955DF, its a 19" with a max res of 1600x1200, I usually have it set at 1280x1024 at refresh of 80Hz, works great. They used to be excellent bargains for the price too, but the price has gone up as they get harder and harder to find, but still cost much less than comparable other monitors. Samsung and Sony make some of the best monitors around, Sony's generally come at a premium price however. The Sony CPD-E440 is considered in many reviews to be the top 19" monitor for its price. You can go for a good 21" monitor instead, but the price begins to jump drastically after 19" and you also begin to lose clarity and dot pitch, so make sure you get a really high performance model if you go that high. Also, most 21" and the 22" monitors are almost the exact same size, dont let the designation fool you, check each monitors viewable size specs to make comparisons.

I have a Proview 17" flatscreen CRT monitor. Works great. Max res is 1280x1024 on 60Hz. Good deal, brand new for $75. But you'll probably have to do some shopping around since I got a rebate at circuit city.
