My computer craps out while playing games, so I looked around and found out it was probably because my computer was overheating, but an interesting fact is even though it craps out after 10mins max in a game, FarCry ran perfect on ultra high for hours and never crapped out. What else could it be?

Can I log it with a program somehow? I don't know how to di it as the game would be running. No, I don't overclock, but my room temperature is about 30 degrees celcius (quite hot)

You claim overheating, but don't give any temps to back it up! If you don't have a monitoring program, play a game until it "craps out", then immediately reboot & check your temps in the BIOS

MBM5 has a feature to log temps, voltages, etc...use it all the time to keep a history of temps and power supply voltages.

MBM5 is free; just use any search engine to get yours, read the instructions, and away ya go.

I didn't knoow if my computer was overheating, but thats the problem that it was most likely, I have logged my computer and it rarely gets over 40 degrees celcius and my BIOS is set to conk out at 60 degrees so it can't be that. I was wondering if it could be because I have a 64bit socket 939 cpu? Coz Farcry runs and it was 'made for 64' and anything else just freezes, the monitor goes off and sound stops though there is still power coz I can open the cdrom drive etc.

yea a room without an AC is a pretty bad place for a computer to work, especially in summer.

I had this proplem on my old PC, doesn't sound like the processor is overheating, your monitor wouldn't switch off it might lose signal but normally when it gets too hot everything literally freezes. If it is overheating open it up and check wires and cables aren't getting cought up in the heat sink fan and stopping it from spinning, I have fixed countless PC's where all it was was wires getting in the way of vital cooling equipment.
