I wouldnt recommend a joystick or pad for CS dude. It would really be difficult. There are too many keys you have to use and just simple stuff like turning around may prove too difficult. I dont know if youre already used to the game or not, but if not...if you use a controller, it might turn you off to the game.

Stick with the keyboard if you can. If not, Id recommend the one controller with the rumble pack made by Microsoft. I recall playing Q2 with that back in the day and it wasnt so bad.

Same here. Getting a joystick or pad might be interesting...but how can you aim in CS? Im used to mouse & keyboard, I been playing for 4 years now and Im good at aiming people with AwP, mp5naVy, m4a1 colt, & ak47.

Joypads eh? you'd need one with two analogue sticks á la PS2, one for walking, the other for aiming. Wether or not you can actually map the in-game controls to fit around your joypad is another matter entirely.

You may think that FPSs on the PS2 aren't that bad with analogue sticks, well don't forget most PS2 games have auto-aim to balance the poor controls out. With a game such as CS which requires split-second timing and microscopic aiming adjustments, it's just be pointless, you'd be fragged to fragsville and back.

I strongly recomment NOT using a joypad while playing Counterstrike, you'll get slaughtered by n00bs lol!

Keyboard works best with CS if you want to use all the features and play comfortably, BUT at the end of the day, it's upto you. : O

i use a keyboard to move and a mouse to aim(left hand on the keyboard and right hand on the mouse, at the same time). i recommend u do the same. i dont recommend joystick in fps games unless u use a psx2-like joystick.
