hey, i have a desktop and a laptop both with the same game counter strike. but when i try to play by creating a server on laptop,as soon as i search for a game server from pc the game on my laptop shuts down with an error saying something like netpacket_sent and when i create a server on desktop and try to connect to it from laptop it says, the server is only for local clients !! while all the other file sharing is done fine.and i am not using any hub or something but just p2p

What kinda connection do you establish between them? If u are using a router then create static IP for the laptop nad search for the specific ip from the desktop(where the desktop will be the host) or best u can try and use hamachi if both have an independent internet connection... also do u have the same thing set up on both the portals? coz at times it so happens tht game versions differ and can cause conflict... and the most important thing that you need to check is that windows is not blocking the game from its firewall..... it can be very frustrating to find out the firewall was the reason.. :-)
Happy gamin (hopefully)
