Video card: 7900 GT KO
Sound card: Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum
Motherboard: Asus AM2 MK2N-SLI (from memory)I formatted last fall. I tried out Windows Vista and my video card wasn't getting along, so now I have a $300 conversation piece on my shelf until I get a new vid card. For now, I formatted and have Windows XP installed.
I noticed over the past couple months that whenever I play a game, it will slow down after a few hours of play. At first, everything seems fine, but I will eventually get a lower frame-rate, and the games just appear jumpy. They don't seem to run any slower or delayed, but it's simply the frame-rate, and it gives me a headache!
With Tabula Rasa, it was a huge problem because the game couldn't handle the frame-rate problem and the server allowed my character to run super fast! (low frame rate and all)
In Lord of the Rings Online, it's just a low frame-rate without the faster movement speed ;)
Anyway, the only way to correct this is to reboot the computer. Then, it's all fine for a few hours until it happens again.
When the slowdown occurs, changing graphics settings in the game doesn't not help the frame-rate.
I do not have any crazy stuff running in the background, just Symantec AntiVirus, MSN, and Daemon Tools (I've had these for years without issue).
I've updated my video drivers just the other week as well.
Any ideas?
