Hi, I have been having a strange problem with my computer lately. I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled a game I have. However, when I start playing a game, the screen will go to a blue screen with text after about 15 minuts of gaming. The text screen will stay for not even a second, so I can not read what it says. My computer automaticly restarts and when Windows starts it says "Windows has recovered from a serious error" and comes up with the send error report screen. Here is some info from that page:
BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : BFA49E14 BCP3 : EF7475F8
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1
Affected Files:
C:\DOCUME~1\Douglas\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER03d8.dir00\Mini011507-02.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Douglas\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER03d8.dir00\sysdata.xml
This has happened before a few years ago, but just stopped. I suspect it has something to do with the computer tempeture or the tempeture of another element in the computer. How do I get these errors to stop?

99% of the time, it's either inadequate power supply or overheating.

I have a laptop, so I believe it has one fan on the bottom of the unit, and one on the left side. A few years ago when I got the computer, I noticed that the bottom was growing very hot when I was using it, so I now place the laptop on a wooden board. I typicly use the computer in my basement, which is an air-conditioned and
heated room.

Two possibilities come to mind. If the computer is several years old, the heatsink is probably clogged with dust. This is highly likely if your basement is dusty or if you have cats or dogs in your house. You'll have to remove the heatsink and clean it.

If your laptop uses an ATI graphics chip there are rare cases of them crashing your system with European produced 3D games. The video drivers react with the game memory maps and ask for sections of memory that WIN2K and XP will not part with so it shuts down.
