one of three things :

1) windows IE error. caused by video errors. solution is to reduce the hardware acceleration one notch.

2) virus. there was one running around recently which caused this EXACT thing to happen. Go to MicroTrend and run Housecall. You can get the URL from Google.

3)exec error. disable error reporting.

Problem number 1 is the most likely cause. I would think that heat would be a VERY distant 4th problem....but usually the system will fail to boot correctly and would have to cycle several times to enter Windows if it was heat.

All these solutions are assuming that you are not 1)overclocking your processor, 2)have matching memory sticks 3)not running dual processors, and 4)not using Rambus memory. Drop me a line if you cannot get this fixed and I'll give you a couple more solutions (the very first solution is the probably cause though). Good luck,

I had this problem on my laptop. The computer would boot off/restart without any consent after 15-30minutes. I couldnt fix it manually (it was a laptop after all) so i had to send it into gateway to fix the problem. they say the problem was a combo of overheating and worn parts. which is true because I never ever left the laptop off, it was always on 24/7...

another problem could be the blaster.worm! scan for that!

It's probably a heat problem. How's your cooling setup? What's your cpu and mobo temp?
