your computer may be increasing the size of its page table for virtual memory. gaming is very costly in terms of eating ram, after the reboot, your system will be able to keep more pages in memory. 128 ram is on the low side for gaming, thus is the problem continues, its probable that there no more room for a bigger page table. time to get more ram.

depending on you Power Supply, you might just be draining power when you GPU totally kicks in.. it is a possibility. You said it started after you installed the FX.
