Whenever I play either Call of Duty World at War or Far Cry 2, my computer shuts down with no warning after loading up my saved game. Any suggestions?

Computer Specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33Ghz

4GB Corsair DDR2 10066

XFX GeForce GTX 260 Core 216

GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 3 motherboard (EP45-UD3P)

Raidmax 730W with 135m blue led fan (RX-730SS) ATX power supply.

Computer temp-Average 70F-75F(21C-24C)<- estimates

I have up-to-date video and motherboard drivers.
This computer is brand new (1 day old since 4/17/09) with fresh copy of windows XP.

Either your power supply is crapping out or your CPU is overheating. 70F-75F? That's just slightly above room temp. Where are you getting the reading from? What's the CPU temp? That's what's important...

Well i got those reading from the built-in-thermometer that you know.. takes readings. But the side of my case is open at the moment so it's possible that it's not accurate. Says here on speedfan my cpu temp is at around 47-50C. I also noticed it said +12V: 1.6V is that normal???

Get yourself a decent hardware monitoring program. Doesn't Gigabyte offer something?

In the meantime, check the temp & voltage readings in the BIOS, probably under PC Health or something similar.

Sorry for the late response but I have exploring a bit and i noticed that in 'System Properties' It says the following:
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU
Q8200 @ 2.33 Ghz
1.98 Ghz, 3.25 GB of ram
Physical Address Extension

I think there's a prob with the 2.33 ghz and the 1.98 ghz not matching up

Also, on EVERST it says:
CPU FSB 518MHZ (original 100Mhz overclock: 419%)

I did not tamper with overcloking anything

Solved my problem by buying a stronger psu. I now have a 850W power supply
