Well I've been having this problem for a while. Whenever I tried to burn a CD or DVD or play a game, my computer will restart. The only games I have tried are The Sims 2 and SimCity 3000.

My specs.

Windows XP Home Edition V.2002 SP2
Intel P4 3.0 GHz Processor
ASUS P4P800SE Motherboard
512MB DDR PC3200 Ram
256MB DDR PC3200 Ram
Radeon ATI 128MB Video Card
NEC Black DVD+/-RW Drive

My CPU temperature will run like this before I play my games.
55 degrees C/ 131 degree Fahrenheit
MB temperature
39 degree C/ 102 degree Fahrenheit
CPU Fan Speed
3054RPM

So what is the problem? I really would like to play a game and not have my computer restart all the time!

Where's the power supply on your hardware list?

Make sure to disable the "automatically restart" setting, that way an error message will be displayed that *may* help you to track down the problem.

sorry

Okia 450WT ATX 4pin Power Supply

and that is disabled...I think...
I don't have an error message at all...it will just restart and act like someone has restarted it.

If it's enabled, your system will automatically restart when there's a problem. But if it's disabled, the system NOT restart...instead, you'll get a BSOD with an error message. Make sure it's disabled!

Other than that, the other two possibilities are an overheating CPU or a weak power supply. Okia is NOT a good brand. The following site has them on sale for $8, Amazon sells them for $13...what does that tell you about the quality?

It doesn't matter when you had it installed, it's a cheap, low end piece of crap. A decent quality 450W PSU sells for about $50 or so. I don't know what you paid for the Okia but if it was more than $10-15, you paid too much.

Your restart problem is probably caused by either the cheap PSU or CPU overheating. You're going to have to determine which.
