AGP Slot: supports 1.5V,8x/4x AGP Card. CAUTION:Do not insert 3.3 V AGP card

Question:
previously my video card was NVIDIA GeForce 5200. then i bought the NVIDIA GeForce 6200

video card. from the on whenever i play games, it just gets stuck after a few minutes. there

are no messages. i hav to restart after that.

i play games like HL2, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, FEAR, Stalker, NFS Carbon, Most Wanted,

Hitman Blood Money etc.

These games worked without the above mentioned problems, though the graphics quality was

bad.

but now i cant play any of the above games for more than 10 mins.

My friend told me to change the AGP Aperture Size in BIOS to 64MB. On doing so, i was able

play a little longer, but the problem still persists. My BIOS, by default sets it to 128 MB.

Request:

Someone please help me to overcome this problem. i am a dedicated gamer. but this problem

has caused me to stop playing. please somebody tell me a solution.

"i am a dedicated gamer"

Not with that system you're not. The GF6200 is not much of an improvement over the FX5200...it may actually have been a downgrade. Neither one of them are gaming cards.

You should have at least 1GB of RAM if you're a "dedicated gamer". Hopefully you have PC2700 [166MHz (DDR333)] to run in sync with your 333FSB CPU?

The ASRock K7VM4 isn't a great performing board either. And to top things off, your "SMPS" has weak specs.

There aren't too many BIOS settings worth toying with, but make sure Spread Spectrum is disabled & the AGP Aperture is set to 128MB. AGP Fast Writes is one you may wanna experiment with...many have reported problems when it's enabled.

Other that that, check your CPU temp.

GF6200 is for everything expect for gaming.I have same problems with 6200. I had before ATI Radeon 9550 on AGP with Intel Pentuim 4 1,4 Ghz,and that combination Worked twice better from what I have now, regrading video card. Recently I bought new PC
Intel Pentuim 4 3,0 Dual Core
1GB of Ram
160 Gb SATA2
ASUS P5LD2 Motherboard
and also I bought GF6200 on PCIExpress

I hoped that this video card will give me better performance.Well in lack of better words,i was very disappointed.
I tried to play NFS:UG2
It was everything else expect better, graphics was slow, system crashes or freezes without any good reason.
I used same configuration as it was on ATI 9550 and 1,4Ghz Pentuim.( 800 x 600,16 bit color depth ).

If your video card have passive cooling ( without fan) try to add fan it may help a bit (I have done so and I'm able to play 2 or 3 hours in one piece),but only solution is to buy a new better video card.( I will do so )
CPU temp also could be a problem, but in your case i don't thing that is the problem.I Add 3 extra fans on my case, and One on video card,I can play but there isn't any improvement except that i lowered temp in the case for 10 C.
If you are a dedicated gamer. I propose you to buy Gainward Bliss GF7600 GT 256MB video card
