Computer freezes when trying to open a game

Asus / G72gx

Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium, 6
I recently found my old Backyard Baseball discs and for some reason every time i try to open the game, my Asus G72GX freezes and forces me to hard boot the computer. I thought it was just the disc but i tried every one of them and they all did the same thing. I opened a game that came on my computer called Galapago and when it went into full scree, the same thing happened - computer froze. Graphics card is a nvidia geforce gtx 260m, so it should be able to handle a game made 13 years ago right? My computer can play World of Warcraft and League of legends fine, i dont know what the problem could be. HELP!

The data maybe corrupted, CDs can rot over time.
So maybe the disc is rotten.

What operating system is your friend running?
Is your computer 32bit or 64bit?

You can try to right click on the games exe file and change the windows compatibly.
