My problem begins whenever i play a game like idk Age Of Empires 3 demo, after like a good 10 mins of playing my comp just restarts for no reason. The game runs fine and for no reason it turns off.
I was thinking it may be my psu but i dont know much about comps. Budget is around 50 dollars.
i had this psu in mind: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153006

Your system could be overheating or it could be your PSU choking as you guessed. What's the spec of your currect PSU ?.

List of lists

Hello:Please Read the Following :
1)Do you see the screen flash blue for a second before it restarts, if so you need to turn off the restart on error under system properties.

2)You may want to blow out your systems CPU fan in case it is heavily dust covered, it could be causing it to overheat.

3)Does the system restart during other heavily disk intensive activities like running an antivirus or spyware scan?

4)Have you installed the latest patches for the game?

5)Does this only happen on the one game or a lot of them?

6)Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card?
7)Do you have the latest version of Microsoft directX 9.0c Installed
8) Have you tried Other Video Card with this Game & what about The Fan on the Top of the Video Card is it Working Properly
9) Have you Played That Game on a Low Resolution
10) Have you Tested you PSU ?

Finally: it sounds like your system is running hot, try it without
the side-panel on the case.
if that fixes it, stop overclocking your hardware and
get some more case-fans
Bon Courage

a 150watt PSU wouldn't provide much power so it is your most likely candidate. I have a question too.
Did this just now start happening or did it always do it or is this a new PC?

In response to the PSU:
The PSU you are looking at seems to be pretty solid and 18A is good for a mid-end system.

My Current Rig:
NZXT Nemesis Elite Black
Athlon 64 3200
Abit An8
OCZ EL PE Rev2 DDR400
X800PRO OCd to 545/560
80GB SATA150 WD HDD
3dMark05: 5827

another thing about the PSU. Some Manufacturers use proprietary PSUs and a bought PSU won't fit so you might have to ask emachines about it.

Thermaltakes are good. Better price since it's free shipping.

Hi.
I 've been having the same problem too.My comp restarts every time I play a game(any 3D game.Usually takes 10-20 min before it restarts.I've tried everything to fix the problem but nothing seems to work.My video card is GeForce MX 400 as well.I don't think the comp's overheating because I have tried different monitoring programs and none of them shows an overheating problem. If you have any suggestions please post them.thanks.
