ok my computer runs perfect as long as i'm not playing games, but when i do it freezes 90% of the time. the game just stops and the very last sound the game made repeats itself very fast. the only thing i can do is restart the comp. this also only happens with 3d games, all the others are fine.i have an AMD Anthlon 1.67ghz, Powercolor 9550 256mb, and 512mb of ram.

sometimes this can occasionally happen on the latest games. you should have enough RAM but if you got another 512MB stick you would soon see the difference. also the speed of your hard drive and cd drive could cause this to happen. My Website

I seriously doubt that it's a lack of hard drive or cd drive speed, or a lack of RAM would cause this. Update your drivers for your motherboard chipset, video card, and sound card first. "If that [soiled bed] sheet is a [holy] manifestation, then I'm working on a miracle in my Jockey's!"

well i've updated my drivers about a hundred times and it's still the same driver over and over again. so it's not that. and i know it isn't a problem with my graphics card because i had an old radeon 7500 64mb card and games still froze then too. it's not necessarily old games that freeze, rise of nations and dungeon keeper 2 both freeze...
