Specs: Windows XP SP3
I have a PC with specs:
Core 2 Duo E7300, 2GB RAM, GeForce 9500 GT 128 bit, 1 GB. Runs on Windows XP SP 3. I experienced lagging while playing Collin McRae DiRT. Is my graphic card is not enough to support the game? Thanks for your answer.

Your CPU & RAM meet the recommended requirements but your video card is only slightly better than the minimum required.

The 9500GT is a low end gaming card. The fact that has 1GB memory tells me that it's slow GDDR2 rather than fast GDDR3. If you compare the 9500GT specs at newegg, most of the cards with 1GB GDDR2 run the memory at 667 or 800MHz. The cards with 512MB GDDR2 run the memory at 800 or 1000MHz, but the cards with GDDR3 run the memory at 1600 or 2000MHz. Manufacturer's realize that most people are clueless when it comes to video card specs...they also know that most people think more is better. So they put cheap 1GB memory on lower end cards to suck people into buying them thinking they're getting a better/faster card when in fact it's *usually* slower.

What size monitor do you have? what do you have the game resolution set at? You may need to back off on your game settings a bit.

Hey.. Thanks for your reply. I already set the resolution at the minimum, 800 x 600 pixels, but it's still lagging. When I bought the graphic card, I wanted to play Call of Duty 4 and the game runs perfectly with it. I didn't realize the 1 GB memory would be "slower". Do u have any advise, beside changing the graphic card, because I just bought it few months ago? Thanks again.

"my monitor's size is 17""

OK, I just wanted to make sure you weren't running 24" LCD monster with the resolution cranked up. The game should not be lagging at 800 x 600. When's the last time you scanned for viruses/malware/spyware, ran a cleaner such as CCleaner Slim or Glary Utilities, used MSCONFIG to disable unnecessary programs from loading at startup, defragged the hard drive, updated your drivers, etc?

Yes, my monitor is 17" LCD. Hm.. I use Original Kaspersky Internet Security 9, and always updated. But it's been a while since I last ran full scan on my computer, defrag, run CC Cleaner, etc. Because I think my PC would be safe using original antivirus, and my harddisk is still have lots of space. But, I'll try to do your recommendation. Thanks a lot.

Before I installed Collin McRae DiRT on my PC, I uninstalled Kaspersky Antivirus. The installation was successful. But after I installed the antivirus again, the game won't run. A window appeared and it said:

"The instruction at "0x008b0523" referenced memory at "0x00300008". The memory could not be "written".
Click on Ok to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

Do someone knows what's happen? I really appreciate the responses. Thanks.
