Hi, everytime i restart windows i get the message(under the tittle of CLI.exe) saying:
"application has generated an exception that could not be handled"
and then the line:
"id=(some number), THREAD id=(some number)"
numbers will vary apparently randomly.
I did some researching and found that this file is associated with the ATI control center (I have an ATI Radeon x700 256 ram) so i tried updating the catalyst and nothing..
I also tried uninstalling the video card software completly and the intalling it from scratch using the cd that came with the video card but nothing(even after installing the latest catalyst again)...Since this message started appearing, some games have started to get mess up. Star wars empire at war will load up perfectly but when you enter into the actual game(i mean when you start a new game or load up one) all I see its a black screen and some weird green line that appear and dissappear according to where i move the mouse(however i can still see the HUD). Another game, starship troopers, will load up but then turn all gray...
This have only mess up some games, other games like FEAR or quake 4 work allright...
Please help,
thanks

Yeah, everything was working allright before that message appeared like 3 days ago...
By the way, i forgot to mention that all of this happened because a virus got into my computer and then the antivirus program did something to the CLI.exe file i guess..
I just find it weird that reinstalling the catalyst didnt replace the CLI.exe file

how do you open it up on windows 2000, i know that for XP is start/run/msconfig but it doesnt work for win2000

Actually i downloaded an application to let me do that and, although the CLI.exe message dissappeared, the games are still mess up. Oh, and I forgot to mention that i also can not play some movies since the message started appearing...

I'd have reinstalled Windows by now.
Look, if your stuff got that jacked, who is to say there's not a zero day threat still on your computer?
Back up your documents, and start over.
