Hi is it the Final Fantasy VII Patch? what you are trying to install?
http://www.qhimm.com/ff7_chocobo_patch.zip

If it is the patch you are asking about where to find the (ff7input.cfg) this should give you a idea where to find it.
This config file is needed to update from the old configuration this is why you have to find it.
The place you should find the file should be in e.g. {C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy\***.cfg} or will be a folder inside that file somewhere.

I do not own any Final Fantasy games so i do not know if the folder is named like Final Fantasy\, some companys put it in the company name folder and the game folder is in there.

Or if you can find the folder for Final Fantasy left click on it so it brings up the menu and go up to search then in the search window were it says: (Search for Folders named): *put the file name in ( ff7input.cfg )
then when that file ( ff7input.cfg ) comes up leftclick on it and go to properties. This will bring another window up and in it will have a address where that file is found like e.g.

{C:\Program Files\Final Fantasy\ff7input.cfg}

Now highlight that left click on the highlight so it brings up the menu again now go to copy, and then go back to the program that is updateing the game and put that address in that bar so it knows where to find the file it wants to update.

Hope this helps
