Your problem is too little RAM & onboard graphics...not to mention you own an HP...LOL!

You should have at least 512MB RAM, with many gamers recommending 1GB...plus you need a "real" video card - preferrably one that supports DX9 & has at least 128MB/128-bit memory

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @ 8 x 210MHz
768MB PC3200
Asus A9550 128MB/128-bit
Gamer Edition
WinME/WinXP Pro

That shows you that the 2.8GHz based on the Prescott is a respectable CPU. However, yours is significantly slower in bus speed, so it's not gonna scream, but it should get the job done. Go get some RAM and a video card, and you should be ok.

"...but in my defense, it was dark, I was drunk, and it was delicious!"

celeron vs P4, its hard to tell by words. you have to see differences by yourself. i have experiment it, both same machine, same ram, same hardware, everything, but the CPU. 1 is 2.5ghz celeron and 1 is 2.4ghz p4. P4 runs smoother in games and any video/image program, its much better. but i still think AMD FX 64 is the best for gaming. 2.4ghz AMD fx 64 gets 104 score while the new 3.73GHZ Pentium 4 EE (duel-core with HT on) only gets 102 score.

P4 3.2GHZ
kingstone 1GB DDR 3200
ABIT AS8 mobo
Nvidia geforce FX 5950 Ultra 256mb
Soundblaster 24-bit audigy 2

by the way, just in case you confuse, P4 EE means Pentium 4 extreme edition, not dual-core.also, there is a new Pentium coming out called Pentium D, you might wanna check that out.

P4 3.2GHZ
kingstone 1GB DDR 3200
ABIT AS8 mobo
Nvidia geforce FX 5950 Ultra 256mb
Soundblaster 24-bit audigy 2
