My computer with a celeron D 340 and 512mb of ram and a fx5500 pci card and a 500watt psu.
vs.
My friends computer with a pentium 4 2.8ghs with HT tecnology and 512mb ram and a fx5500 pci card but a 400watt psu.

My computer beats my friends in all the games we play like Css, oblivion, BF2, dark messiah of might and magic demo, flat out 2. He gets better benchmarking scores. His is also a BTX version would that make a difference.

Your Celeron D 340 runs at 2.93Ghz at 533Mhz FSB and your friends P4 2.8g HT runs at 800Mhz FSB. Technically, your friend's system should out perform yours since he has p4 with 800Mhz FSB vs your 533Mhz system with identical RAM and video card. In order to know which system runs better, it has to be using exact setting under games. Not like your friend run games at 1280x1024 while you run yours at 800x600 or FSAA/AA on vs not on or game quality set to medium instead of max. I suggest you use game command to show fps or use fraps to compare both system under same quality and resolution setting from games to games. Also be sure to use the same nvidia drivers for both and have the latest updates for motherboard chipsets and others. If your friend got better benchmarking score, then his system should run better at games given both have same amount of RAM and video card...
