cd-drive clicking

Dell Inspiron 1545 notebook

Specs: Windows 7, 4GB
My CD-DVD RW drive reads some disks and not others. For example, it reads my Age of Empires III disks but when I put my Crysis disk in to install it, the disk accelerates, slows and begins to click at a rate of every half a second. Any help?

a clicking drive is typically not a good thing, as this is usually an indicator that the drive is on it's last legs. How old is the laptop? is it still under warranty?

If it's under warranty, get a new drive from Dell. if not, get a replacement drive from ebay or craig's list or something (you could also try Dell, but if it's out of warranty they'll probably try to charge you like $100 for a $20 part).
