well...I just benchmarked w/ 3Dmark03..

Cat 4.7 - 95XX
Cat 4.8 - 99XX

There we have it...the 4.8 DOES improve performance for the x800 series!!!...my vid card is not oc'ed...it's used its default setting (475/900)...I believe the score would reach more than 10K w/ a lil oc'ing..^_^

Last night I ran 3DMark 03 on my 4.7 and got 5450.
Today I installed the 4.8 and got a score of 5489.
It seems every time I run the test I always get a different score, even with the same drivers. Is that normal?
Does 5489 sound right to you guys?(First time running 3DMark 03 ).

unless you guyz have a x800, you are not gonna see a big difference in the benchmar... any benchmark... when i chnaged i went from ~30000 to ~31000 in the aquamark3 test
however it fixed doom3 really well! It doesn't crash at all anymore... i had that problem.

Nice...
So what exactly do the game developers do to make specific gaming cards run better than others for certain games?i.e,UT04 with Nvidia and Half-life2 with ATI.

Amazing. Thanks for that. I will certainly be buying the ATI card. Unless of course, NVidia releases some tweaked drivers. I dunno. I think it is more likely that the games manufacturers will need to release patches to make their games more compatible with the NVidia cards.
