cant remember the name of a computer game

I am trying to remember the name of computer game i played around the mid to late 90s. this kid is in this wacky, spooky house and he has to run around and pick up stuff around the house like vomit, gum, and wigs and use them to get futher. For instance, the kid finds a wig and dresses up a mannequin or something to win a beauty contest to get money to buy something later. I know this is not a very good description,but i am desperate to find this game, and i cant for the life of me remember it.

thank you for your reply, that isnt the one i was thinking of but it is the same premise. the one im thinking of is newer, like late 90s, but hugo's is very very close to what i am thinking of. thank you so much though. im getting closer!
