cant host internet games

OS: win XP sp1
CPU/Ram: athlon XP 2600, 512MB RAM
Comment:

Whenever i try to host agame it either comes up with a message to say that i cant host. That or it starts the game but nobody ever comes into my room even if i left it for hours. Does it make a difference that im logging onto the internet through an internet gateway. I have broadband DSL 256, my network driver is SiS 900 Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter. My networking is on-Board not through a card. Please solve this problem.

Are you running a software firewall or a router? If so you need to open the game ports required for hosting games, what game are you trying to play?

either open the port or enable yourself as a DMZ host in ur router settings.

I try to play BF1942, Empire Earth and AoE2. However on Diablo 2 I can host a game.
