Ok its like this I have never played a game that came from a cd before.A box pops up saying direct x but I have the latest direct x.Like I said I am new to video games and am looking for some solutions on how to make this game work.

Look at the system requirements on the game box. If you don't have the box, you should be able to find the requirements online.

You don't list your system specs but 256MB memory is barely enough to run XP, let alone play games.

Just to add...you should shoot for the "recommended requirements" rather than the "minimum requirements"

All fixed it was my anti virus causing all the problem.So while playing the game I have to shut down my anti virus.So in this case I play butin the mode of work offline.
