I just found out that my motherboard settings are: AGPx4.

PSU 230W, athlon xp 2400, asrock k7vm2 motherboard with onboard lan, sound and 32mb graphic(i disabled it), Asus 128Mb fx5200 graphic card, 40gb and 80 gb hard drives, ram: 1- 256(don't know the make of it), 2- 512 PC2700 Kingston. Dvd rewrite.

Why do you think I need to change my craphics card??

I think it is the motherboard, but don't know which one is the best for my PC. I am also planing to upgrade my cpu to 3200 in near futer.

Its undoubtebly your PSU. 230W doesn't cut it with all those optical drives.

Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb
AMD Barton 2800
Asus A7N8X E-Deluxe
512 DDRAM PC2700

Michael, no need to change your GraphCard unless u want to play a power hungry games like Doom3, FarCry, Rome Total War etc. Your Graphic Card doesn't contribute to any of your problem. UNLESS it is a diffect card or you didnt insert the card properly.

As for your Mobo, take your Mobo CD (provided when you buy your PC) and install the driver for your Mobo. That should solve your AGP8x problem.

The windows will only restarts itself when your PC is unstable. Cause of problem can be your RAM, Mobo, CPU and Power Supply. As for your PSU is only 230W i really reccommends that you upgrade to a more powerful PSU (450 above).

Finally you have to check the CPU cooling fan and MAKE SURE youre using fan that have a speed of more than 6000rpm to be safe. Because AMD Athlon really produce a lot of heat especially when it is in full load (example games).

P4TypeC 2.8GHz HT
ASUS P4PEX/i845
Apacer 1GB DDR400RAM
Seagate 40GB/80GB HDD
GeForceFX 5600XT
LiteOn DVD Drive
ASUS CDRW Drive
Sound Blaster Live!Value
WindowsXPSP1/Windows98SE

I wonder why your PC restart when you play games. If you see a blue screen when windows restarts, it is a software problem. No blue screen is hardware such as faulty ram, psu or cache memory at mb.
