Cannot Build a House in The Sims 2

Why I can't build a house in The Sims 2 ? I have installed all components in the CD's. My Graphics Card is GeForce4 MX 128Mb. In the Build Mode the floor or wall can't displayed in the grid. Why ? Thanks b 4
