was wondering if someone could explain to me why u got this like Asus geforce 6800 and then u have another geforce 6800 i cant remember the name before but isnt it the same thing or is it something else?
Not exactly sure what you're asking...is it about different versions of the 6800? There are several of them: 6800LE, 6800XT, 6800, 6800GS, 6800GT, 6800Ultra, 6800Ultra Extreme (I think that's all of them). There are differences in in GPU & memory clock speeds, the type of memory used (DDR, GDDR2, GDDR3), the number of pipelines, etc. The basic differences can be found on this chart:
If different brands, NVidia simply sells the various GPU's (graphics processing units) to makers like Asus, who turn it into a card, 95% of the time based on Nvidia's reference design.
In most cases, various card manufacturers make equally performing cards with pretty much equal quality, but manufacturers are free to put on any components they want. In other words, I wouldn't go with Bob's brand video card. Stick with reputable brands.
ohhh right. I watched on the telly the other day how they made it. pretty funky if u ask me. so i get it now thanks. I was getting confused and worried there...
