Hi frnds,
I hv a pc with the following config:
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.2 GHz
RAM: 1Gb
OS: Windows XP SP 2 Professional Edition
I'm looking to buy an NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT
1 Gb GDDR3 graphics card. Can I run games like COD 4, NFS Carbon, FarCry, Black Hawk Down Or Shadow Ops: Red Mercury with the above config of pc and graphics card?

Hi there,
You're current configuration easily meets the recommended requirements for all those games except COD 4 for which you meet the minimum requirements (only because they recommend having a 2.4 GHz dual core or better, but your graphics card definitely exceeds the requirements). You can definitely run all those games, just for COD 4 you may not be able to set it to the highest settings (but you can try).
Here are the system requirements for all those games if you're interested:
COD 4 : http://blogulate.com/content/call-o...
NFS Carbon : http://www.nfsunlimited.net/carbon
Far Cry : http://www.g-unleashed.com/index.ph...
Black Hawk Down: http://www.techimo.com/articles/ind...
Shadow Ops : http://www.trygames.com/cb_game/aff...
Cheers

To cay_skimmer,
Thank's for the reply... i'll try my luck upon COD 4. Hope i shall be able to run it under lower settings...Also thanks for the links. :)

Get a better card than the 9500GT...it's not very good. And don't get suckered in by 1GB.
Invest in more system RAM & read the following article before buying a video card:

yeah i'll be buyin another gb of RAM...Thanks for the suggestion(to maddogpc)...
and jam thanks for your suggestions too...how woul'd be Nvidia geforce9800gtx??
Anybody pls tell me : nvidia geforce cards or ati radeon? Which woul'd be better??

Depends on what price range you're looking at. The link that jam gave you in response #3 gives the best card for a given price.
Here is a link that shows how different video cards compare to each other (they use 3DMark06 for the tests):
