Can I play starcraft 2 if i only have AGP

Blizzard Starcraft ii: wings of liberty

Specs: Windows XP
The minimum requirements for Sc2 are Geforce 6600, which i think i can get for my AGP slot. but it also says it needs PCIe, which my computer does NOT have. I got my computer about 5 months ago from Dr Micros. it is very frustrating because i only have and AGP slot and PCI slots. but no PCIe. just want to know if buying the 6600 for my AGP slot will allow me to play sc2, or if i should forget about it and get a new computer. (not considering replacing motherboard at all)

Unless for some reason the game requires tons of upstream bandwidth (games usually only care about downstream bandwidth), a fast AGP card should run SC2 fine.

You should aim for something a little higher than the 6600. Every once in a while, TigerDirect offers an x1950Pro AGP for $64.99, which is a great deal.

I have a P4 2.8Ghz and a HD 5450 AGP card, 2GB of system RAM and XP.

SC2 works decently on low settings on 1v1 games. When you get to 2v2 games, they are still playable until you get about 100 units on the screen at once. I am going to upgrade to a core 2 duo.. if you just want to play 1 player it should be fine though.
