Okay, i have heard many different views of whether my card(fx5600 non-ultra) can handle doom 3. So, i would like to hear the opinions of some people who have got a 5600, and who have tested the game on that card ,but feel free to express your opinions even though you don't have the card. I want to get as much help as i can, because i don't want to waste another 50 bucks on a game i can only run 10 fps on(like deus ex 2). Oh yea, greatly appreciated if you could post ur fps as well.

Runs great! :D

800*600 on Medium, had it on at 1024*768 at some stages but got a bit laggy.

You hav a faster processor than me so it would run even better, well worth the buy.

I'm running the game just fine. AMD Barton 3200+, 1GB RAM, FX5600 256MB, *high* video setting in D3, 1024x768. Plays smooth as glass.

I'm running an Ultra but wont get the game till tomorrow so will have to let you know.

As you can see from my sig I hope to run this just fine.

Got an X800 on standbuy at my local internet shop though just in case.

As a guide though, the best i could play FarCry was Medium Detail at 1024*768.

Athlon 3000+ (barton)

Gainward 256Mb 5600 Ultra

Screen res: 800x600. On both High and Low settings, I get between 25 to 35 fps during non-action sequences (i.e. just walking around). On High setting, fps drops below 20 if 2 or more baddies show up, which renders the game unplayable. On Low setting, it's 25-35 all the way through.

Any higher resolutions and the game becomes a slide show.

See sig for system specs.

AMD Athlon XP 2700+
Asus A7V600-X

GeForce FX 5200 (256 MB)
