Hi Guys. I also get an error code when trying to play COD2 :- Video card or driver doesn't support alpha blending.

I have a Sony Viao desktop PC bought two years ago. Do you think an updated driver will allow me to play COD2 ?

This is the error code I get in full :-

well, I don't think COD2 supports that card. However I suppose it should run (damn slow though). Download the latests nvidia drivers and install directx 9.0c (which should come with call of duty 2 - donwload it if not).
That may fix the problem.

Your system is enough for COD2 with exception of your video card. If you want to get descent framerates (or get the game running at all in case latests drives don't work) you need to upgrade. Which slots do you have in your motherboard? only pci?

Hi, I also got that error message. I know my other hardware should support the game. I have a Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video card, with DirectX 9.0c. Is there any way I can make it work? Thanks.

Hey i installed these drivers from (http://www.omegadrivers.net) for my video card and the game got started

**RISK**
It worked for couple of months but then my comp started crashing and giving my screen some funky colors... but i just reinstalled the original drivers for my Radeon 9800 PRO and it works again... soooooo.... is playing COD2 worth the risk?? Oh yeah.
