has anyone even played a game then all of a sudden a window comes up and says something like "C++ runtime error visual" and under it it says "abnormal something something" sorry i dont remember, but yeah ever since i installed by 5700LE it started doing that.. is it because of the video card? or the driver? because when i installed the driver it said something about it might have problems or something.. (btw i DLed the latest patch from nvidia.com) but i have no idea what to do or why its happening

AMD Athlon 1.0 Ghz
GeForce FX 5700LE 256MB

Is this coming up with all video programs ?
Have you noticed this with Outlook, or any Word programs ?

And you should be playing online games, right?

Specifically, I experienced that with online games - CS:CZ and Wolfenstein ET.

The error should read like:-

MS Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!

Program: ...teamapps\......\hl.exe
Abnormal program termination

Some said you could download the latest VB library but that didn't solve the problem now (before it sort of remporarily solved it for a while)

My friend uses a Matrox graphic card and he has no problem with ET. I use a GeForce FX5200 and problems all around me...

There is no straight forward answer to this - not from M$, not from Valve, not from id. Seems like no one knows the answer.

On the other hand, I read from a Win98 forum where someoone has the same problem. He solved the problem by deleting the 'Common Name' directory. I don't know if it works on a XP machine or not and I dare NOT to try...
