So tell me guys am i able to play these games on my new pc?Here's the specification.
ASUS A8N5X Motherboard
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 4200+ Processor
Corsair Value Select PC 3200 1GB DDR RAM
Western Digital 250GB 16MB SATA Hard Disk
XFX Geforce 7600GT 256MB PCI-E VGA CARD
Creative X-FI Xtreme Music SOUND CARD
US Robotics 56Kbps MOdem
NEC DVD Burner
View Sonic 17" CRT FLATRON MOnitor
Logitech Keyboard and Mouse

hell yea...
but i dunno about that modem... it could slow your T3 internet connection down =) lol
TJ297 All Prices are in Auzzie Dollars =D
AMD 3800+
2 Gig RAM
Nvidia 7800GT
Thermaltake 430w PSU
Antec LAN-boy Case
Onboard Sound WOOOOT
Surprisingly not bad :p

- choose a different motherboard. The A8N5X uses the "vanilla" nForce4. Look for a board based on the nForce4 Ultra or nForce4 SLi.
- consider a different CPU. The 3700+ San Diego is only $99. If you want an X2, the 4400+ has 2 x 1MB L2 cache & is the one to go with.
- if you can afford it, get an LCD monitor instead. 17" models are relatively cheap & actually have a larger display area than a 17" CRT, not to mention a sharper picture, less power consumption, & a much smaller "footprint" on your computer desk.
- you could hold off on the sound card temporarily so that you can make the above "adjustments" to the config. Onboard sound has gotten much better, depending on the motherboard.
- 56K USB modem? If you must go dial-up, either get a cheap internal modem or a more expensive serial port modem rather than USB.
- make sure to get a good PSU & plan on spending at least $50 for a decent name brand unit that conforms to ATX12V 2.x

And it must be mentioned that Intel Core 2 Duo processors spank AMD CPU's right now. Not to mention DDR2 memory the Intel CPU's use tends to be less expensive than DDR that AMD uses.
As for the LCD, you should be able to get a 19" LCD for not a lot of money....

The other thing I like to point out is LCD's have twice the life of a CRT, reduce eye strain, use 40% less electricity, and generate less heat which saves even more electricity during the summer months.

Actually, jam has a point. You'd be better off with a 3700 and upping your graphics card than the X2 4200 or 4400 with the 7600GT. Get a 7900GT before you go any higher than the 3700 on the CPU.

Boredom is not a much compelling reason for a complete system overhaul.
Is your current system unable to keep up with the games you listed & could you also list the full specs of it?

I'm not sure about that LCD - CRT monitor thing. I agree with you on the energy, heat and eye strain but I'm not sure it lasts longer.
I'm using a 1999 Dell Trinitron CRT from my old computer. two years ago I had a Samsung LCD monitor that broke down after only 6 months. then I replaced it with an LG that broke down two months ago.

Not sure what to tell you. LCD are rated with double the useful life expectancy across the board among all major brands compared to CRT's. Let violatile parts inside would logically back that up, and I haven't seen any data nor experienced anything with LCD's that would prove the contrary with my own machines, systems I've built, nor corporations/large gov't agencies I've worked in who have used both.
You can disagree, but statistics and the very nature of CRT's vs. LCD's state otherwise.

For about $40-60 more you could get an ATI Radeon x1800XT from newegg for $200-230 and it'll smoke that 7600GT. As well as being able to play all those games maxed out at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 it'll be able to play Oblivion with high settings (albeit with a little tweaking - http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_1.html )
And I'd go with an x2 3800 and o/c it a little with stock cooling (you can easily get to 2.4ghz on stock cooling). I'm runnin an x2 3800+ at 2.5ghz with a slightly oced x1800xt ona 21" dell crt and I run every game at 1600x1200 maxed out (cept FEAR and oblivion). Just my 2 centsx2 3800+ @2.5ghz
2x512mb cosair xms ddr400
160GB wd
Radeon x1800xt @ 700/1700

The X2 3800 is not the chip to get. With only 512K cache per core, it runs *slower* than an Athlon 64 3700 in games in games that aren't optimized for dual core, which most aren't, while costing some $50 more than the 3700.
Go with the X2 4400 (1M cache per core), or the 3700. The 3800 is a waste of money.
At that price on the video card, he could also get a 7900GT, too, so I don't see the point of the x1800xt.
